Mahindra recently started the deliveries of its much-awaited SUV, Mahindra’s New XUV700. Ever since its launch, it has created quite a stir in the Indian car industry. In its 5-seat configuration, the mid-size SUV competes with the Creta, Seltos, Hector, and Harrier, while in its 7-seat configuration, it competes with the Alcazar, Safari, and Hector Plus. We’ve compiled a list of the top reasons why the XUV700 is superior to its competitors.
1. Impressive Design
The XUV700 looks excellent and keeps the essence of the XUV500 in its style, but is built on an entirely new monocoque basis. Because of the flush door handles and polished character lines, it has a considerably cleaner and more elegant appearance than its predecessor. It now features a blacked-out chrome-plated 6-slat grille flanked by LED headlights with the characteristic “C” shaped LED DRLs. The dynamic indicators, which are located between the two linings of the daytime running lamps, complete this design.
The rear wheel arch reminds you of the XUV500 from the sides. The flush-sitting doorknobs that pop out when pressed, however, are the most enticing feature. In the top-spec X7 trim with the option pack, they are, however, powered by electricity. The 18-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloys, as well as the arrow-shaped LED taillamps, add to the innovative design.

2. Luxurious Cabin
The new XUV700’s cabin design, which will offer you a luxurious sense, is surely its wow factor. Its dashboard, which is dominated by a twin-screen layout, will remind you of the latest-generation Mercedes cars. Although the inside is mostly made of hard plastic, the soft-touch leather and silver accents on the dashboard give it a lovely touch. The white leatherette upholstery, as well as the faux wooden trims on the door pads, piano-black finishing on the door handles and switches, and imitation wooden trims on the door pads do honor to the interior.
3. Tons of Features
The Mahindra New XUV700 has a long list of features. It features an all-LED lighting system, dynamic LED indicators, the largest panoramic sunroof in the segment (sky roof), a power-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support and memory function, two-zone climate control, fully digital instrument cluster, keyless entry with push-button start/stop function, one-touch tumble seat in the second row with recline function, rear AC vents with blower controller in the third row, power/charging sockets in all three rows, cooled front center armrest, a rear central armrest with cup holders, LED illumination inside the cabin, extendable sunshades, optional wireless charging pad, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, smart air purifier, tilt-&-telescopic adjustment for steering, and four driving modes with the diesel model, etc.
4. Enthusiastic Performance
The XUV700 is available with both petrol and diesel engines. The 2.2-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol engine produces 200PS/380Nm, while the 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine from the mHawk series produces 185PS and 450Nm (420Nm with MT, and 155PS/360Nm in MX trim). Both of these engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In addition, the New XUV700 diesel offers a segment-first all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD) option.
