Tata Motors will introduce CNG versions of the Tiago and Tigor in India soon. Unofficial bookings for these CNG vehicles have already begun at a few Tata Motors dealerships.
While these CNG vehicles were originally scheduled to be released in November 2021, the official release date has been pushed back to January 2022. Furthermore, unofficial bookings for the same are already available at select Tata Motors dealerships in India.
Tata has been testing CNG versions of the Tiago for a long time, they will be the first set of CNG cars from this Bombay-based homegrown carmaker. The company has not yet officially revealed any information about the launch date of these CNG vehicles. According to our dealership sources in the Delhi-NCR region, the new Tiago CNG and will be introduced in India next month, in January 2022.
Tata Tiago CNG : Engine and Suspension
Tata Tiago CNG will be equipped with the 86PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, albeit detuned when running on CNG, and will most likely be paired with a single 5-speed manual gearbox. It could only be available in mid-spec trims.
Tata Tiago : Other Features
Tata has given Tiago a minor facelift for the 2020 model year. With its shark-nose grille and redesigned headlamps, it now resembles a baby Altroz from the front. The Tiago’s interior features an updated 7-inch Harman-sourced touchscreen infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes an 8-speaker (4 component speaker) Harman audio system. A digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and folding outer rearview mirrors, a cooled glovebox, steering-mounted audio, and telephony controls are among the other features. The Tiago has a boot capacity of 242 liters. The Tiago possesses dual airbags, ABS, and EBD, as well as a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.
Tata Tiago CNG : Price Range
Unofficial bookings for the Tiago CNG have begun at a few dealerships. Expect it to cost around Rs 90,000 more than the petrol counterpart, which starts at Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).
The new Tata Tiago CNG will compete with the Hyundai Santro CNG, Maruti Suzuki WagonR S-CNG, and others.
