The Slavia will be the first all-new product in the midsize sedan segment in over a year and a half. While sedans have been substantially outperformed by SUVs in India, Skoda believes the Slavia has what it takes to bring the segment back to life. The new Slavia is built on the MQB A0 IN platform, which also underlies the Kushaq and Taigun SUVs. The new Skoda Slavia will possess the following features and design:
Skoda Slavia Design:
The Slavia is definitely a Skoda at first appearance. It has the same design as recent Skoda cars like the Octavia and Superb upfront. The car’s headlights are sleek and sophisticated, with large LED daytime running lights with crystalline detailing. Skoda has added a considerable amount of chrome to the front of the Slavia to match Indian buyer preferences, which looks lovely but may not be to everyone’s taste. The headlamps blend seamlessly into the wide Skoda grille, giving the car a bigger appearance than it actually is.

The Slavia’s design in the back has a visible relationship to its larger siblings, and the crystal appearance seen on the headlights is also seen on the taillights. The wraparound taillights reach all the way to the back fender and are set at extreme corners. Creating a large gap between them and giving the car a broader appearance. Skoda has also added a chrome strip to the bottom of the bumper to give the car a more expensive appearance.
Interior:
The Skoda Slavia’s dashboard features a four-layer design, starting with an all-black top and textured plastics, then a brown panel that looks like faux wood. A piano black panel follows, followed by a beige tone for the glovebox lid and the surrounding area. Similar to the Kushaq, the AC vents on the sides are spherical, while the ones in the center are rectangular.

Several interior trimmings and equipment, such as the two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls and knurled buttons, On the dashboard, there is the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and the touch-based temperature control panel. The Slavia, on the other hand, has circular air-con vents on the sides, whereas the Kushaq has hexagonal AC vents on both ends. With a wireless charging pad just forward of the gear lever, the center console has a clean, uncomplicated appearance.
Expected Features:
The Skoda Slavia will be available in three trim levels at launch: Active, Ambition, and Style. The top-spec Slavia Style trim comes with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen. While the entry-level Active trim comes with a smaller 7-inch touchscreen.
It also comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as linked car technology (MySkoda Connect), leather upholstery, ventilated seats, an electric sunroof, a wireless charger, automated climate control, keyless entry, and an auto-dimming internal rearview mirror.
Six airbags, ESC, an electronic differential system (EDS), a tire pressure monitor, and hill-hold control (optional). A rear parking camera, multi-collision brake, and ISOFIX child seat fixings are also present in the Slavia Style’s safety features.
Engine and Gearbox Options:
The Slavia, like the Kushaq, has two turbo-petrol engine options. A 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with 115 hp and 175 Nm will kick things off, linked to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. A 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine with 150 horsepower and 250 Nm will be available. With either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT automated transmission. The Slavia will be the most powerful car in its class thanks to its 1.5-liter engine.
Skoda Slavia: price expectation
The Slavia is likely to cost between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will compete with the Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in addition to the Honda City.
Following the release of the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun SUVs, the Skoda Slavia is the second chapter in the Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 plan.
