After months of speculations, the Japanese auto giant Toyota is finally planning to launch its much-awaited SUV Toyota Fortuner facelift by next month, Indeed Toyota dealerships across the country have started taking un-official booking of the new model by accepting a token amount of Rs.50,000/-

Earlier the Toyota Fortuner facelift was revealed in Thailand and the SUV is looking quite premium with addition of a host of bells and whistles. The refreshed Fortuner is likely to be available in the standard and sportier Legender variants. The standard variant will get a bold face with a new grille, LED headlamps, and muscular bumpers whereas the Legender variant will get a premium touch with the Lexus-Esque front fascia and dual-tone alloy wheels. Both variants get new LED tail lamps. The interior layout follows the current Fortuner, but it will get new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with a 9-speaker JBL sound system.
The feature list is likely to include a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, and hands-free boot opening, whereas features such as keyless entry with push-button start, climate control, a coloured multi-info display, cruise control, drive modes and powered driver’s seat will be carried forward.
New Toyota Fortuner Engine
The Thai-spec Toyota Fortuner facelift is equipped with a couple of diesel engines — 2.4-litre (163hp and 400Nm) and 2.8-litre (204hp and 500Nm). Both the powertrains have 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT options. The Fortuner that is currently on sale in India comes with 2.7-litre petrol (164hp and 245Nm) and 2.8-litre diesel (175hp and 420Nm) mills, with 5-speed MT/6-speed MT and 6-speed AT choices, depending on the variant.
New Toyota Fortuner Expected Price
The facelifted Fortuner will command a premium over the current model priced between Rs 28.66 lakh and Rs 34.43 lakh. The SUV will rival the MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Ford Endeavour.
