Toyota C-HR was spotted testing here in India quite some time ago. Out of the four SUV segments sub-four meter, Sub-Compact, Mid-Size and Full Size. Toyota already has two SUVs in place – Toyota Fortuner which comes as a full-size SUV and The Toyota Urban Cruiser which comes under the Sub-Four meter SUV segment.
Toyota still has no vehicle which can cover compact and mid-size segment. Except launching a rebadged version of Maruti Baleno and Vitara Breeza Toyota not have launched any new vehicle in India. As per sources, the Japanese auto giant is planning to bring New Toyota C-HR for domestic customers.
The Toyota C-HR was the first Mid Size SUV from Toyota which is based on TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. And the new 12th generation corolla will also be based on the same platform. Assembling the Toyota C-HR through CKD kit will not work due to high pricing and already competitive segment. Toyota has already localized TNGA in the countries like Thailand and China indeed C-HR is locally manufactured there.
In the Domestic market, the launch of C-HR here depends upon the localization of parts to keep it at fair pricing. If launched it shall compete with Volkswagen T-Roc, Jeep compass, Skoda Karoq, XUV700 and more.
Toyota C-HR Looks

Toyota C-HR Size and Engine

Toyota C-HR measurement
Size-wise the C-HR measures 4,360mm in length having a wheelbase of 2,640mm. The crossover offers a boot space of 370-litres, which is 70-litre more than the Toyota Innova Crysta. In-country like Thailand, the C-HR is famous for offering a mileage of up to 24.4Kmpl.
