What’s New in Kia Carens?
The Carens have a 2,780mm wheelbase and is built on an extended version of the Seltos chassis. The Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra Marazzo have the same wheelbase as the Carens, however, the Hyundai Alcazar has a 20mm longer wheelbase. The Carens have a 40mm longer wheelbase than the XL6 and Ertiga. In reality, the wheelbase of the Carens is 30mm greater than that of the Toyota Innova Crysta. As a result, both the second and third rows of the Carens should have plenty of leg room.
Crown jewel LED headlights with Star Map LED DRLs and a digital radiator grille with the Kia Signature Tiger face distinguish the fascia. Plastic cladding and strong edge lines highlight the side profile. The vehicle’s rear has wraparound split Star Map LED taillights and a three-dimensional chrome bumper garnish.
Kia Carens get two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The Smartstream G1.5 has a six-speed manual transmission with 112bhp at 6,300rpm and 144Nm @ 4,500rpm. The SmartStream G1.4 T-GDi, on the other hand, generates 136 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 242Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,320 rpm. Both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DCT will be available for the turbo petrol engine. The 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine produces 112bhp at 4,000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,750rpm and is available in both six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions.
