Maruti vitara will be based on the current-gen Vitara Brezza’s C-platform which has been renamed from the previous Suzuki’s C-architecture.

The Japanese media outlet has also released a rendering of the upcoming SUV. The rendering hints of the car’s dimensions, suggesting that it would make for an excellent rival to the Kia Seltos in India.

The next-gen Suzuki Vitara will have a bigger footprint on the road with increased dimensions. It is expected to measure at 4,200 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height. The outgoing model, however, is 4,175 mm long, 1,775 mm wide, and 1,610 mm tall. The wheelbase will likely be identical to the outgoing car at 2,500 mm.

The next-gen Suzuki Vitara will also feature new underpinnings in the form of a revised platform. Suzuki will infuse the new car with a tough as well as sportier appeal. With new radiator grille, redesigned headlamps, flared-out wheel arches, tighter beltline, raked d-pillar, the new Vitara will look a lot sportier than the car it will replace.

The next-gen Vitara will also be updated on the inside. It currently features a mundane layout for the dashboard with an all-black theme for the interior. Since its prime competitors offer a fitter ambience and better-styled cabins; expect the Vitara to see a slew of changes on the inside as well.

2021 Suzuki Grand Vitara will be sold under the NEXA sub-brand which works under the Toyota-Maruti JV. We can also expect a 5 and a 7 seater variant on the 2021 Suzuki Grand Vitara and will actively rival the likes of the recently launched 2020 Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos
