In a show of support to electric cars in India, Now a days KIA Motors is seriously considering to launch KIA Soul in India, The #KiaSoul is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured and marketed worldwide by Kia Motors. Designed at Kia’s design center in California, the Soul debuted at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and is manufactured in South Korea
Due to its unbeatable performance, Kia Soul EV electric crossover won 2020 World Urban Car of the year award, The design of the new car retains the classic boxy styling while front and rear fascia design is changed,
The biggest takeaway, though, is the new-gen Kia Soul EV’s power-train. The car gets a major upgrade in performance with power & torque output raised to 204PS/400Nm from the earlier 110PS/285Nm. It employs a 64 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery instead of the old 30 kWh unit and as a result, upon single charge it also manages a claimed travel range of 450km
It comes with Kia’s e-Soul heat pump system which helps to save energy and increases the range by using recovered waste heat emitted from the coolant water for the electric power-train. It also has occupant specific air conditioning system which means if only a driver is in the car, the cooling will only be around him or her. This further helps save energy and increase driving range.
Additionally, there is a battery-heating system that warms the battery floor in colder regions for a smoother motor start. This can be programmed from before. Kia claims that the car does not sacrifice performance in any way and can go from stationary to 0-100 kmph in 7.6 seconds and has a maximum speed of 167 kmph.
