Honda is seriously planing to launch Honda City RS turbo model for India, weeks back All New 2020 Updated model of Honda City started reaching at dealerships across India, following model was first time launched in Thailand
Looks wise Honda City RS appears more premium version of Honda City 2020, under the bonnet too its coming equipped with 1.0 liter turbo charged engine, Honda is considering City RS for India as rival cars like Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid are already coming with turbo options
The City RS also gets higher 16-inch tyres, In Thailand the Honda City RS is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo VTEC that makes 122 PS at 5,500 rpm and 173 Nm between 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. it is mated to the seven-step CVT available in the petrol City in India.
Inside the cabin, The Thai-version gets red-accented physical dials unlike the Indian car, but a similar change can be expected here. the RS version comes with an all-black interior, aluminium pedals and red contrasting stitching. Other than this many of the features of the India spec car is available, Safety is taken care of with six airbags, ABS, EBD, Side view camera etc.
Compare to Honda City the RS version gets few cosmetic and feature upgrades such as blacked-out grille with RS -badging and a honeycomb pattern, a sportier bumper with slatted fog-lamp inserts, a unique Ignite Red paint option, new alloy wheel design, more sportier rear bumper with faux diffusers, blacked-out mirrors and rear spoiler.
It must be noted that the decision to bring in the City RS is not a foregone conclusion. Honda is also considering options to just bring in cosmetic up-gradation of Honda RS and not the engine change, earlier Honda experimented by Launching RS version of Mobilio and Honda Civic which didn’t get much response from buyers, if Honda City RS launched in India, it shall be placed as top of the line variant and cost Rs 75,0000 – Rs 1,00,000 more then normal CVT model
