BS6 Vespa Elegate 149 All Set for Launch

Piaggio India officially announced the BS6 compliant Vespa Elegante 149 online. Same is launched as replacement of BS4 Elegante 150. The pricing of the updated scooter is yet to go live. In order to make the new Elegante 149 meet the latest BS 6 emission standards, its engine has been updated with Variable Spark Timing Management and three catalytic converters.

Vespa Elegante 149 is a scooter available in 2 variants in india. Its lowest version starts from a price of ₹1,14,803 (ex-showroom) and the top version from a price of ₹1,32,721 (ex-showroom).

Vespa Elegante 149 generates 10.03 PS power @ 6750 RPM from its 149cc engine. Single cylinder engine of Elegante 149 has an automatic gearbox. With rear drum and front disk brakes, the top variant of Vespa Elegante 149 also has an anti-locking braking system. This 114 kg scooter is available in 2 colours.

Max Power: 10.3Ps @ 6,750 rpm

In latest launch, instead of the previous 150 cc engine, the Vespa Elegante employs a 149 cc single-cylinder powertrain with 3 valves, SOHC, and roller rocker arm. Following units produces 10.3Ps @ 6,750 rpm For the record, the previous 150 cc engine churned out 10.06 PS of maximum power and 10.9 Nm of peak torque.

Apart from updated engine, there is no other cosmetic update on the scooter

Measurement: 1,770 mm length, 690 mm width and 1,140 mm height.

The stopping power on the Elegante 149 comes from a 200 mm ventilated disc at the front and 140 mm rear drum and the braking is complemented by the safety kit of ABS.
